Maryland Crab Soup
Soups are available in cup or bowl, in both Maryland style (being reviewed) and Cream of Crab. All soups are stated to be from scratch daily using the freshest ingredients. Served with crackers.
The first thing you notice as you dig into the soup is the amount and variety of vegetables: corn, grean beans, celery, carrots, peas, lima beans, and tomatoes. There is crab in the soup, but it is all shredded up into strands. The primary flavor of the soup base is salty tomato with crab as a secondary flavor. The crab strands are also a bit dry, which stands to figure if the meat has been cooking all day in the soup. The biggest complaint is the amount of salt in the soup base, which tends to override any other flavor. The crackers served are salted, so while they may provide a nice crunchy texture to the soup, they add more salt which puts the salt factor over the edge.
